A few months ago we stumble across these delicious jams!!! We started exploring and found this wonderful small business based out of California called Lemon Bird Handmade Jams. We have been going back and forth with the owner now for about three months trying to get her to do an interview with us, she is a busy bee making her amazing jams. We are so excited to finally bring you a highlight on her company. Her jams are so amazing, and she is so sweet. My christmas list just got a little bit longer!
Tell us a little bit about yourself and company?
Lemon Bird Handmade Jams is a small, artisan food company based in Wrightwood, California. Our jams are handcrafted with all natural ingredients and local, pesticide-free fruit harvested from family farms. We make all of our jams in small batches in traditional French copper jam kettles. Inspired by some lovely jars of homemade jam we found on a trip to the south of France, a few years ago we began making our own gourmet jam as gifts for family and friends. Since then Lemon Bird has grown steadily to become a full-time small business for Amy Deaver, its founder and owner.
Where do you go for ideas and inspiration to create such amazing flavors?
We travel the farmers markets in our area many times each week and get to know our local farmers. We find the best “in season” local produce that inspires all of our creations. We also search out the best spice vendors from as close as next to door to as far away as Paris.
Do you have any favorite jams, and if so what would you pair it with?
Our favorite flavors change with the seasons. We love all of the flavors we make and enjoy creating all of the unique flavors in our line. We are filled with excitement as each new growing season approaches with the new tastes and flavors that will fill our kitchen.
These would make perfect favors, gifts to your bridesmaids, or just a wonderful indulgence for yourself. Be sure to also check them out at their esty shop.
Thank you Amy for taking the time out of your busy schedule to talk with us! I’m hungry now!
